Jamie Lambert is a passionate author and speaker who helps people piece their lives back together through honesty, healing, and personal growth. At the heart of everything I do is a deep belief in authenticity, growth, and connection. I believe that healing begins with honesty—being real with ourselves and others. I value emotional integrity, self-awareness, and the power of meaningful relationships. Most of my childhood was filled with laughter—playing sports, running around with my brother and sister, just being kids. Those moments were real and joyful. But even the best memories feel tainted because of my father. No matter how well I did—on the field, at school, or at home—it was never enough. There was always something more I could have done. When he was diagnosed with colon cancer, I was forced to grow up fast. While other kids were focused on homework and friends, I was helping raise my siblings and finish building the house we started—following his instructions, carrying the weight. He was also violent toward my mother and siblings, but never toward me, which placed me in the middle—always protecting, always trying to keep the peace, and often resented for not taking the same blows. That experience shaped me in ways I’m still learning to understand. It gave me strength, yes—but also deep wounds I’ve had to work hard to heal.
Family has shaped me in both beautiful and difficult ways. I find incredible strength in the people who have stood by me with love and support—my husband, my mom, my son, and the friends who have become chosen family. They remind me every day what it means to love deeply and show up consistently. My grandpa was one of the most meaningful figures in my life; even though I lost him when I was just eight years old, his presence and the love he gave me still live in my heart. At the same time, some of the deepest pain in my life has come from family—my father, my sister, my brother, and my grandmother. Their actions left scars, but they also taught me resilience, boundaries, and the power of choosing peace over chaos. Through it all, I’ve learned that family isn’t always defined by blood—it’s defined by love, respect, and the people who truly see you.
Throughout everything life has thrown my way, certain people have been my anchor—my safe place, my strength. My husband, Chris Lambert, is not only my partner but my constant source of support and grounding. My mother, Joan Cogburn, has been a pillar of love and resilience, showing me what it means to keep going even when life gets hard. And my best friends, Allison Schilling and Nazla Reagin, have stood beside me with unwavering loyalty, laughter, and truth. They’ve celebrated my highs, held me through my lows, and reminded me who I am when I started to forget. These bonds aren’t just friendships—they're lifelines. They’ve helped shape the woman I am today: strong, grounded, and never alone.
At my core, I’m passionate about helping others become the strongest, most authentic versions of themselves. Whether it's through coaching, teaching, or simply being there for someone in need, I find purpose in lifting others up. I’ve always had a deep drive to protect, guide, and care—something that’s shaped both my personal life and professional path. Earning my black belt in Taekwondo taught me discipline, perseverance, and the importance of balance—lessons I carry into everything I do. And I proudly prove through my journey that even a chubby girl can earn that black belt—you can too. Whether I’m mentoring someone through a difficult season or empowering a group in a seminar, I’m most alive when I’m helping others realize their own strength.
My cultural identity is a deeply personal part of who I am—shaped by family traditions, life experiences, and the values passed down through generations. It’s the way I see the world, connect with others, and carry the stories of those who came before me. At times, it has felt like a puzzle—pieces I’ve had to find, question, and reclaim in my own way. I’ve learned to honor the parts of my culture that bring strength, resilience, and belonging, while also healing from the aspects that caused pain or confusion. Embracing my cultural identity has been a journey of self-discovery—one that reminds me of my roots, my voice, and the power of knowing where I come from.
My career journey started humbly—as a server—where I quickly worked my way up to manager and eventually assistant general manager. Each role taught me the power of leadership, resilience, and the importance of building people up. But at the heart of it all has always been my true passion: teaching. I went to school to become a math teacher because I’ve always thrived on helping others understand, grow, and succeed. Whether in a classroom, a workplace, or a one-on-one conversation, my greatest fulfillment comes from watching others discover their own potential. My goal is to continue leading, teaching, and empowering—creating spaces where people feel seen, capable, and inspired to rise.
Emotional resilience is the strength to keep going when life tries to break you. It’s not about being unaffected by pain—it's about facing it, feeling it, and choosing to rise anyway. For me, resilience was born out of necessity—growing up in a world where I had to be strong for others while learning to protect my own heart. I’ve learned that true resilience isn't pretending everything’s fine; it's allowing yourself to struggle, to heal, and still move forward with purpose. It’s choosing peace over chaos, growth over bitterness, and love over fear. Emotional resilience is a daily choice—and it’s one I continue to make, not just for myself, but for everyone I hope to help along the way.
My spiritual beliefs are deeply rooted in faith, hope, and the belief that everything happens for a reason—even the hard parts. I believe in a higher power that guides, protects, and strengthens me through every season of life. My spirituality isn’t about perfection or rules—it’s about connection, purpose, and the quiet confidence that I’m never walking alone. It’s what grounds me in chaos, lifts me in pain, and reminds me that I am here for something greater than myself. My faith has carried me through some of my darkest moments, and it continues to be the light I return to as I grow, heal, and help others do the same.
Self-worth isn’t something you find—it’s something you learn to remember. For a long time, I measured my value by what I did for others, how much I achieved, or how well I held things together. But true self-worth comes from within. It’s knowing that you are enough—not because of what you do, but simply because you exist. It’s the quiet power of standing in your truth, setting boundaries, and choosing yourself without guilt. Learning to love and accept myself—flaws, scars, and all—has been one of the hardest and most freeing journeys of my life. Now, I live each day reminding others: you are worthy, you are whole, and you don’t have to prove it to anyone.
Coping mechanisms are the ways we survive when life feels overwhelming—and for me, they’ve evolved over time. In the past, I often coped by staying busy, keeping strong for others, and pushing my own emotions aside. But I’ve learned that true healing comes when we stop just surviving and start feeling. Now, my coping tools include journaling, prayer, movement, talking with people I trust, and giving myself permission to rest. I still fall into old patterns sometimes—because healing isn’t linear—but I’ve learned to recognize what truly helps and what only numbs. Healthy coping is about choosing tools that help you move through the pain, not just around it—and it’s a choice I try to make daily.
Trauma has a way of breaking you open—but within that breaking, there are lessons that shape who you become. I’ve learned that healing isn’t about erasing what happened, but about learning how to carry it differently. Trauma taught me the importance of boundaries, of protecting my peace, and of trusting my inner voice. It showed me who I could count on, and who I needed to walk away from. It taught me that strength isn’t silence—it’s vulnerability, honesty, and the courage to keep going even when your heart is tired. Most of all, trauma revealed that I am more than what I’ve been through—and that I can take the shattered pieces and rebuild something even stronger.
My dreams and aspirations are rooted in purpose. I don’t just want to succeed—I want to make an impact. I dream of building spaces where people feel seen, heard, and empowered to put the pieces of their lives back together. I aspire to write books that heal, lead seminars that transform, and create a legacy that inspires growth and authenticity in others. I want to use my voice, my story, and my experience to remind people they are not alone—and that healing, success, and joy are possible no matter where they started. My journey hasn’t been easy, but it’s fueled a fire in me to rise and bring others with me. That’s my dream—to help others realize theirs.
Setting healthy boundaries is essential for maintaining well-being and fostering respectful relationships. Boundaries serve as personal guidelines that define acceptable behaviors and interactions, helping to protect our physical, emotional, and mental health. By clearly communicating our needs and limits, we establish a foundation of trust and respect with others. For instance, setting boundaries can prevent feelings of resentment and burnout by ensuring that we do not overextend ourselves to meet others' expectations. They also promote self-awareness and independence, allowing us to prioritize our well-being without guilt. Learning to set and maintain boundaries is a vital aspect of self-care, enabling us to navigate relationships and responsibilities in a balanced and healthy manner.
Personal style is a reflection of one's unique identity, shaped by experiences, values, and self-expression. It encompasses the clothing and accessories chosen to represent oneself, serving as a visual narrative of personal evolution and aspirations. Developing a personal style involves exploring various fashion influences, understanding what resonates individually, and curating a wardrobe that aligns with one's authentic self. This journey is dynamic, allowing for growth and change, and ultimately fosters confidence and a deeper connection to one's inner self.
Effective communication is vital for building strong relationships and fostering understanding. There are four primary communication styles: passive, aggressive, passive-aggressive, and assertive. Developing an awareness of these styles allows individuals to adapt their approach to various situations, promoting healthier and more productive exchanges. By understanding and refining your communication style, you can enhance personal and professional relationships, leading to improved collaboration and mutual respect
Navigating family relationships has been a profound journey for me, marked by both deep connections and necessary distances. I cherish the unwavering support and love from my husband, mother, and best friends, who have been pillars of strength in my life. Their presence has provided me with the foundation to grow and thrive. Conversely, I made the difficult decision to distance myself from my father and siblings due to enduring toxic dynamics that were detrimental to my well-being. This choice, though painful, was essential for preserving my mental and emotional health. Such decisions are deeply personal and, while challenging, can be necessary steps toward fostering a healthier and more authentic life.
I’ve always found deep fulfillment in caring for others—it's at the core of who I am. However, this often means my own needs take a backseat, leading to burnout and exhaustion. Recognizing that I can't pour from an empty cup, I'm learning to prioritize self-care. This includes setting aside time for activities that rejuvenate me, like practicing Taekwondo, which not only keeps me physically active but also centers my mind. I'm also working on establishing boundaries to ensure I have moments of rest and reflection. Embracing self-care isn't about neglecting others; it's about ensuring I have the energy and well-being to support those I love effectively.
Intellectual curiosity is the innate drive to explore, question, and understand the world more deeply. It propels individuals to seek out new knowledge, challenge existing assumptions, and delve into subjects beyond surface-level understanding. This relentless pursuit of learning not only enriches personal growth but also enhances critical thinking and problem-solving skills. In professional settings, intellectual curiosity fosters adaptability and innovation, enabling individuals to navigate complex challenges effectively. By nurturing this curiosity, we open ourselves to continuous learning and the boundless possibilities that come with it.
Creative expression has been a vital part of my personal journey, offering a sanctuary where I can explore and convey my innermost thoughts and emotions. Engaging in activities like writing, painting, and practicing Taekwondo allows me to process complex feelings, reduce stress, and find a sense of inner peace. Through these creative outlets, I've discovered new facets of myself, fostering resilience and a deeper understanding of my experiences. Embracing creativity has not only been therapeutic but has also empowered me to navigate life's challenges with greater confidence and clarity.
Social influences play a pivotal role in shaping our beliefs, behaviors, and overall development. From early childhood, interactions with family members, peers, and the broader community contribute significantly to our understanding of the world and ourselves. Family dynamics, for instance, often establish foundational values and norms that guide our perceptions and actions. As we grow, peer relationships become increasingly influential, offering opportunities for social learning and identity formation. Engaging with diverse social groups exposes us to varying perspectives, fostering adaptability and empathy. Moreover, societal norms and cultural contexts provide frameworks within which we navigate our roles and responsibilities. Reflecting on my journey, I am deeply grateful for the personal achievements that have shaped my life. Building a loving family with my husband, Chris Lambert, and nurturing our son has been a profound source of joy and fulfillment. Cultivating enduring friendships with my best friends, Allison Schilling and Nazla Reagin, has provided unwavering support and enriched my life immeasurably. Professionally, advancing from a server to assistant general manager has been a testament to my dedication and growth in the hospitality industry. Additionally, earning a black belt in Taekwondo has been a significant milestone, instilling in me discipline, resilience, and a commitment to continuous self-improvement. Now, I am channeling my experiences into co-writing books aimed at empowering others to become their best selves. This endeavor allows me to extend my passion for teaching and coaching, sharing insights and strategies that have been instrumental in my own journey toward personal growth and fulfillment.

Each setback has offered valuable lessons, teaching me resilience, patience, and the importance of self-reflection. For instance, facing obstacles in my career path highlighted the significance of adaptability and the need to embrace change. These experiences have underscored that failure isn't a definitive end but a stepping stone toward growth. By analyzing missteps and understanding their root causes, I've learned to approach future endeavors with greater wisdom and preparedness. Embracing failure as an opportunity to learn has empowered me to pursue my goals with renewed determination and insight.
Embracing self-compassion has been a transformative journey for me. As someone who has often prioritized the needs of others, I realized that I was neglecting my own well-being in the process. This pattern led to feelings of burnout and self-criticism. Recognizing this, I began to practice self-compassion by treating myself with the same kindness and understanding that I readily offered to others. I started acknowledging my struggles without judgment and allowed myself the space to rest and heal. This shift not only improved my mental and emotional health but also enhanced my ability to support those around me. By embracing self-compassion, I've learned that caring for myself is not a sign of weakness but a foundation for a more balanced and fulfilling life.
